1. Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Mobile Threat Defense mobile application (the “App”) and the related informational website located at useful-cleaner.com (the “Website”). It describes the categories of information that may be processed when you use features such as smart cleanup, duplicate contact review, gallery cleanup, photo compression, password generation, and password storage.
This Policy does not replace the privacy notices of Apple or other services that you may independently use. For example, purchases made through the Apple App Store are also subject to Apple’s privacy practices and App Store terms.
2. Our core privacy approach
Mobile Threat Defense is designed to perform its core utility functions on your device. The developer does not collect, sell, rent, or trade the contents of your contacts, photo library, stored passwords, or files for advertising or profiling purposes. We do not operate a data brokerage business and we do not use your personal content to build marketing profiles.
In normal App use, content that the App needs in order to perform a feature is accessed only after you grant the relevant iOS permission. The purpose of that access is to provide the function you selected. Where a feature can be completed locally, the related content remains on your device and is not transmitted to the developer’s servers.
3. Information the App may process
Depending on the features you choose to use and the permissions you grant, the App may process information already present on your device. This can include contact entries, contact names and telephone numbers, photos or media metadata, file-size information, device storage statistics, and passwords or notes that you choose to create or save in the App.
“Process” in this Policy includes reading, comparing, sorting, identifying duplicates, generating output, displaying results, saving user-selected information locally, or deleting content only when you confirm an action that requires deletion. Processing does not necessarily mean information is transmitted over the internet.
4. Contacts and duplicate contact review
If you grant access to Contacts, the App may read your contact records to identify entries that appear to be duplicates or near-duplicates. The App may compare names, phone numbers, or other contact fields to help you decide whether records should be merged or otherwise cleaned up.
Your contact book is not used for advertising, outreach, sale, or unrelated analytics. The App only needs contact access for the contact-cleaning functions you request. You can revoke Contacts access at any time in iOS Settings, though doing so may prevent those functions from working.
5. Photos, gallery cleanup, and compression
If you grant access to your photo library, the App may inspect photos and related media information to display gallery-cleaning options, identify items that may be duplicates or similar, and perform photo compression when you initiate that feature.
Photos are not uploaded to the developer for advertising or sale. Any deletion of photos should occur only after an action you take through the App and remains subject to iOS permissions and system behavior. We recommend reviewing selected items before confirming deletion or compression and maintaining backups of important content.
6. Password generator and password vault
The App may generate password suggestions and allow you to save generated passwords or related information in an in-app password vault. Information you choose to save in this feature is intended for your own use and is not used by the developer for advertising, marketing, or profiling.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, including a device passcode and any other protections offered by iOS. No password manager can eliminate every security risk. For important accounts, use unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication when the relevant service supports it.
7. Device and storage information
Smart-cleaning features may use device-level information such as available storage, used storage, file counts, media sizes, and other technical values that iOS makes available to the App. This information is used to present cleanup suggestions and storage summaries inside the App.
The App is not intended to continuously track your location, browsing history, or activity in unrelated apps. Storage information displayed in the App may be an estimate and may differ from values shown elsewhere in iOS because the operating system can update caches and storage calculations independently.
8. In-app purchases and subscriptions
Paid features may be offered through auto-renewable subscriptions or other in-app purchases processed by Apple. The developer does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple is responsible for payment processing and may provide the App with limited transaction-related information necessary to confirm purchase status, entitlement, restoration, or subscription access.
Subscription management, cancellation, billing, payment-method handling, and refund eligibility are governed by your Apple account and the applicable App Store rules. You can manage subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
9. Limited information related to refund requests
Although the App is designed so that personal content is not sent to the developer, a limited exception may apply if you initiate an App Store refund request and Apple requests information about the consumption of an in-app purchase. In that situation, information may be provided to Apple only for the purpose of assisting Apple with the refund decision and preventing purchase abuse.
Such refund-related information may include app usage time, an anonymous account identifier, the total amount spent, and the total amount refunded. This information is not used to sell advertising or to build a profile about your personal contacts, photos, passwords, or files.
10. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The developer does not use your contacts, photos, saved passwords, or other personal content for third-party advertising. The App is not intended to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies for advertising purposes. We do not sell personal information and do not provide personal content to data brokers.
If the App’s technical implementation changes in the future in a way that introduces a new category of data collection, analytics, or third-party processing, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or in connection with that change where required by applicable law or platform rules.
11. Sharing, disclosure, and sale of information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not disclose your contacts, photos, or stored passwords to advertisers. We also do not transfer this personal content to unrelated third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
Information may be disclosed only when reasonably necessary to comply with a binding legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of users or the service, address fraud or abuse, or respond to App Store refund-consumption requests as described above. Any such disclosure should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for the specific purpose.
12. Data retention and deletion
Because the App’s core personal-content functions are designed to operate locally, the developer generally does not maintain a server-side copy of your contacts, gallery content, or passwords. Information stored locally remains subject to your device settings, your use of the App, and the operating system’s storage behavior.
You can remove locally stored information by using available in-app controls, where provided, or by deleting the App, subject to any iOS backup or restore behavior that may apply. Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; subscriptions must be managed separately through your Apple account.
13. Security
We take a privacy-minimizing approach by keeping core personal-content processing on the device when possible. However, no application, device, operating system, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should keep iOS updated, protect your device with a strong passcode, avoid sharing device access with untrusted persons, and maintain backups of important information.
14. Permissions and your control
iOS may ask you to grant permissions such as Contacts or Photos access. You can accept, limit, or revoke permissions through iOS Settings. If you deny a permission that is necessary for a specific tool, that tool may not function or may have reduced functionality.
Granting permission does not give the App permission to use the related content for unrelated purposes. The permission is used to provide the feature associated with that content, consistent with this Policy.
15. Children’s privacy
Mobile Threat Defense is a general utility application and is not directed to children under the minimum age required to independently consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. The App is not designed to knowingly collect children’s personal content for advertising or profiling.
If you believe a child has provided information to us in a way that is inconsistent with this Policy, contact us so that we can review the concern and take appropriate action where reasonably possible.
16. International users
The App may be available in multiple countries. Privacy rights and terminology can vary by jurisdiction. Because the App’s core personal-content processing is intended to remain local to your device, the amount of personal information handled by the developer is limited. Where applicable law grants you additional rights regarding information that the developer actually controls, you may contact us to exercise those rights.
17. Your choices and privacy rights
You can control App permissions in iOS Settings, decide which cleanup actions to confirm, choose what information to save in the password vault, and remove local App data by using available controls or deleting the App. You can also manage or cancel subscriptions from your Apple account.
If you submit a privacy question by email, please avoid sending passwords, complete payment-card information, or unnecessary copies of sensitive personal content. We may need enough information to understand your request, but we do not need access to your private passwords or photo library to answer ordinary support questions.
18. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the App, applicable law, App Store requirements, or operational practices. When changes are material, we may update the effective date above and provide additional notice when required. Continued use of the App after an updated Policy becomes effective is subject to the updated version, to the extent permitted by law.
